As a lifelong New Yorker and pet lover, Lauren joined Rover in 2022 while living in FiDi as a way to get to spend time with pets in the neighborhood. Over the last two years, Lauren started realizing the pain points pet owners encounter when searching for consistent, high quality, trustworthy pet care. As a pet sitter herself, she also experienced challenges with enlisting her services on pet sitting apps, from high fees to inconsistent clients. That's when she started imagining an alternative pet care option -- enter Bestie!

 

Bestie is a solution to the struggles pet owners and pet sitters encounter in the pet care space. Pet owners are skeptical of pet sitters even after reading online reviews and spend time vetting them further. Pet sitters face steep fees for providing their services and have no incentives to stay on apps. Bestie puts the needs of pet owners and pet sitters first through a curated roster of premium pet sitting talent and providing fair wages with minimal fees. Now that Lauren is at Columbia Business School pursuing her MBA, she is dedicating time to building Bestie into a full fledged concierge pet sitting service.
